Company Joins the Ranks of Industry Leaders for IP Streaming and Control Commonality

Atlanta, GA, USA – September 22, 2010 – (CEDIA Expo Booth #4518) Global Caché, the leading independent manufacturer of IP and WiFi connectivity products for the control and automation market announced today they have joined the newly formed StreamNet Partner Program. StreamNet partners are market leaders in audio/video, security, HVAC, lighting, window covering, and more. Manufacturer partner products work seamlessly with other manufacturer partner products as part of a standard IP infrastructure.

Global Caché’s products connect almost any electrical device throughout a home and business to a WiFi and IP network so it can be controlled, automated, and maintained by network-based software. The company offers other connectivity products and capabilities, including IR learning, IR receivers, and sensors, that can be connected to a network. Global Caché devices are designed to work with other standards based products.

StreamNet enabled products function the same way as other IP network connected device. Users can look for their IP address, can browse for them and can even interrogate them like any network device to determine their status. StreamNet distributes uncompressed and compressed audio and video, synchronized across any number of multiple zones without any centralized control point, matrix switching, or specialized Ethernet hardware. Additionally, StreamNet devices self-configure on the network and manage and assign their own IP addresses, advertise their capabilities to other devices on the network, and discover the capabilities of any other device on the network. This enables easy provisioning and simple maintenance while providing incredible scalability and flexibility. Control in the StreamNet system is completely decentralized. Removal of any one device, source, display, speaker, or user interface does not impact the system – devices simply work to build logical connections between themselves.

“We’re very excited about the StreamNet Partner Program, and are impressed with the caliber of the partners themselves,” said Robin Ford, VP of Business Development at Global Caché. “We’re all about standards and open systems, and it is so gratifying to see companies of like mind getting together to promote the concept of seamless inter-operability. It’s the way to the future for our industry.”

“We couldn’t agree more,” said Chris WildForrester, Vice President of Business Development for ClearOne. “The time has clearly come for the choices and affordability provided with the adoption of open systems and standards. We’re happy that Global Caché joined our growing ranks. They’ve been true pioneers pushing standards like IP forward for many years and fit very well with the goals of the Streamnet Partner Program.”

About StreamNet Partners
StreamNet Technology is a solution for real time media streaming and control using Internet Protocol. StreamNet was conceived with the notion that the Internet provides a means for the consumption and distribution of rich media content and control to any endpoints anywhere.

The StreamNet context is that sources may or may not exist within the same premises as the devices on the network. Instead, these devices can come and go from a premise, they can be only online, “live” in the premise scattered around a physical location or simply streamed in by demand over the ubiquitous broadband connection. The underlying technology of StreamNet is a fully network connected device. StreamNet devices look like any other network connected device on a network. They look for their IP address, browse to them, or interrogate them like a network device to determine their status.

On top of this strong base that is provided by the IP network, StreamNet adds a number of important benefits. StreamNet distributes uncompressed and compressed audio and video PLUS control over additional devices synchronized across any number of multiple zones without any centralized control point or matrix switch. Additionally, StreamNet devices self-configure on the network and they can manage and assign their own IP addresses, advertise their capabilities to other devices on the network and discover the capabilities of any other device on the network. This enables easy provisioning and simple maintenance while providing incredible flexibility.
