(Lunch@Piero's/COMDEX Fall 2002) Global
Caché and Xabler,
both providers of products that enable technology in homes, announced
today they have signed a strategic alliance agreement which describes
their intention to work together by marketing and delivering compatible
and innovative solutions to the home automation market.
"Both Xabler and Global Caché are committed to providing
the best home control and automation solutions possible to our customers,"
said Kent Gividen, Xabler President. "By working together we
will ensure that our products work optimally together and can feel
confident in recommending each other's products to our customers.
The GC-100 is a great fit and helps
promote our vision of the open standards movement."
The Global Caché GC-100 Home
Network Adapter is a flexible and easy to use hardware device
connecting IR, relay, serial, and digital I/O devices to a network.
The GC-100 addresses the growing number of homes with high-bandwidth
Internet and networking capability and enables the use of network-based
software to control and automate diverse devices throughout the
home, avoiding costly and complex proprietary systems.
Xabler provides a hardware and software solution that installs
a secure home network and allows wireless control. It allows the
control of lighting, distributed audio, RS232 devices, etc. Xabler
also provides a streaming video server, Xabler Digital Music Server
(DMS), and wireless equipment all in one turnkey solution. Through
Xabler everything can be controlled through the Internet, Wireless
Web Tablet or PDA.
"We’re delighted to be working with Xabler to ensure
delivery of complimentary and compatible products for the home automation
and control market," said Walt Keller, Global Caché
President. "We believe that the old proprietary home control
systems are being supplanted by new technology based on open systems
and standards. For this shift in the marketplace to be successful
it's important that all the pieces of the system work together flawlessly.
Our agreement with Xabler further ensures this happening."
