The GC-100 Home Network Adapter to enable connectivity
in NextGen Home in Las Vegas at CES
San Jose, CA - December 19, 2002 - Global
Caché announced today that the GC-100 Home Network
Adapter will be included as part of the connected home solution
in the
NextGen Demonstration Home being built in the Stardust Hotel parking
lot in Las Vegas, NV. The demo home, which is scheduled to premier
during the International Consumer
Electronics Show (CES) in January
2003, will demonstrate that smart and efficient homes can be built
for the typical homebuyer, not just the wealthy.
The Global Caché GC-100 Home Network Adapter enables the
use of network-based software to control and automate diverse devices
such as audio/video equipment, automated curtains and blinds, and
other common household appliances found in the home. Using the
GC-100, all infrared, serial and relay devices can be simply and
affordably connected to a home network.
"We're pleased to have Global Cache's products in this groundbreaking
demonstration home," said Paul Barnett, iShow CEO. "The
GC-100 Home Network Adapter is an essential part of connecting
the homes' devices to the software that runs it, and helps us
to achieve our goal of providing leading-edge connectivity at
a price that the common homeowner can afford."
"We are very excited about being part of this project," said
Robin Ford, VP of Business Development at Global Caché. "Seeing
is believing, and we think the idea of actually building an affordable
home using the latest in home technology is the best tool ever
in getting the message out there that connected, efficient, automated
homes are available for everyone. This is no longer a vision for
the future, but is working today."
Look for Global Caché at the Lantronix booth No. 25199
during CES in Las Vegas on January 9th through the 12th.
