Global Caché Introduces GC-IRL IR Learner for IP-based Systems

New product features ability to learn the full spectrum of infrared commands from 30KHz to 500KHz, the GC-IRL provides a quick and easy way to build IR databases for use in network-based systems.

Orlando, FL - March 10, 2004 - (EHX Spring 2004 Booth #742) Global Caché, the award winning provider of products that enable technology in homes and businesses, announced today that it will begin shipping the Global Caché GC-IRL IR Learner immediately. The GC-IRL is used with a PC to automatically learn the full spectrum of IR codes, from 30 KHz to 500KHz, that control infrared driven equipment. When used in conjunction with the free GC-IRL Utility software, the learned code is displayed, converted into other formats, and automatically copied into the Windows clipboard, which can then be pasted into any Windows application to facilitate quick database and/or spreadsheet creation and updating. The stored codes can be used to control and automate any device that accepts infrared control signals, from any networked computer, and over the Internet. The GC-IRL's power is supplied by the RTS line of the serial port and requires no external power supply.
