Embedded Automation and mControl add Support for Global Caché Network Adapter Series for IR Control

Surrey, BC - November 21, 2005 - Embedded Automation and Global Caché have partnered to simplify management of the digital home. Through the support of Global Caché ’s award-winning line of GC-100 Network Adapters, mControl is able to centralize the control of previously disparate home electronic equipment. This is all being demonstrated at Embedded Automation’s booth (#158) at the Electronic House Expo (EHX), in Anaheim, CA from November 9 – 11, 2005.

“The marriage of mControl and the GC-100 provides the ability to listen for, act upon, and send out a variety of IR signals. This functionality allows users to easily manage their entire home through a single remote control. For example, one button press can turn on your home theatre system, start playing a DVD, and adjust your lighting to your movie setting”, said Maury Lum, sales & marketing manager for Embedded Automation. “Whether you are using an integrated Windows Media Center Edition system or a remote computer running Windows XP, the networked nature of this technology allows local management of all electronic components.”

In conjunction with Global Caché IR support, mControl will be demonstrated controlling both Insteon lighting, D-Link security cameras, compatibility with media center extenders, and multi-client support. Beyond mControl, Embedded Automation will also showcase their other mHome products at EHX this week. mTheater, the custom media center PC with its A/V design will be the control center for the demo this week, illustrating its power and versatility.
